Stalls and their products are true testament to ‘vocal for local’ go global initiative: CM Sarma

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that exhibitions foster connections between buyers and sellers as they are the vital platforms for eliciting recognition of the innovations of the new age entrepreneurs. Appreciating the innovative and creative skills of the entrepreneurs at the Pavilion of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit venue at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the innovation of the new age entrepreneurs of the state has left him spellbound.

Starting from creative artefacts made from water hyacinth to attractive value addition to bell mental and brass metal products, the innovation of the entrepreneurs standout in meeting the expectations of the buyers. Moreover, the exhibition and sell of muga silk thread jewellery, which is a proud emblem of Assam’s rich cultural heritage and exceptional artistry, also received a platform at the summit.

The Chief Minister during his visit to the exhibition stepped in at around two hundred stalls and expressed his immense pride at the innovative products crafted by the local entrepreneurs. The stalls popularizing the ideas of bio fuels, organically made health and hygiene products, plates, spoons, etc made from the bark of the betel nut trees etc stand out to strengthen the economy in synergy with the ecology.

Dr. Sarma said that the products displayed at the stalls are the true testament to the “Vocal for Local, Go Global initiative”. The Chief Minister also explored the stalls of multinational companies where their products and services thus displayed reflected the cutting-edge innovations.

The innovations on different sectors reaffirm that India is on the right path toward becoming a Viksit Bharat, exuded the Chief Minister. He also urged people especially the students to visit the exhibition, witness the innovations and draw inspiration for a New Assam, stated a press release.
