Suicide in Guwahati city; 2 bodies found

GUWAHATI: A man committed suicide while two bodies were found in the city over the 24 hours. One Surajit Bezbaruah (50), a cultural activist, was found in his rented house at Basisthapur bye-lane No 3 of the Survey area here this morning.

Police sources said that the deceased left behind a suicide note. He is survived by his wife and daughter. Meanwhile, the body of Isaac Marak (22) was recovered from the roadside Puberun Nagar of the Satgaon area this morning.

Police sources said the Marak had been missing after he had his dinner last night.

In another incident, the body of a transgender person named Bijulee was found lying on the bed of a rented house at the Mirhaj path at Sijubari here this morning. According to police sources, body was found foaming at the mouth. The deceased's husband, Sulaiman Ali, was not found at the house, the sources added.

The sources said that the couple had been having some quarrels over the past few days and it is suspected to be a case of murder. However, the post-mortem report is awaited in this regard.
