Woman among four held for suspected drug peddling

GUWAHATI: A woman along with three other men was arrested by the Basistha Police on suspicion of drug peddling, from Lakhara Chariali area on Tuesday. The police have recovered around 1,000 empty containers, which they suspect, were being used to carry drugs. The apprehended persons are Hamidur Rahman (22) of Borni, Mijanur Khan (23) of Barpeta, Tarabanu (21) of Baku and Bilal Hussain (20) of Aadabari. The accused were coming from Hajo to Kahilipara.

Along with the drugs, the police have seized an Alto car bearing registration number - AS 01 HC 2605 from their possession. Further investigation is on.
