GUWAHATI: The Youth Congress activists on Friday took out a bike rally to protest against the State government's 'failure' to control the surging prices of essential commodities. Scores of Youth Congress activists took out the rally from Chandmari Rotary to Rajiv Bhawan. Meanwhile, Dr Juri Sharma Bodoloi took charge as the president of Guwahati City District Congress Committee. She was appointed during a public meet – Nabayatra — that was held at Rajiv Bhawan. The meet was attended by APCC in-charge Jitendra Singh, APCC president Ripun Bora, MP Gaurav Gogoi, leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia, among others. While addressing the meeting, the leaders appealed to all the party workers to work tirelessly to root out the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) in the forthcoming polls. Dr Juri Sharma Bodoloi said that people of Guwahati are aware about the BJP's failure and are ready to remove them from power.
