Youth killed by miscreants at BG Yard in Bamunimaidan

GUWAHATI: A youth was killed by miscreants at BG Yard, Bamunimaidan on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Jintu Mali (18), a resident of Jonali Nagar, Matgharia. The police said he received blows to the head with an iron rod.

He was a truck handyman, and the police said he engaged in a scuffle with a section of truck drivers and handymen at BG Yard on Sunday evening. The family of Mali intervened and broke the scuffle. However, on Monday morning, Mali's body was found by his family members in a pool of blood.

His family members informed the Noonmati Police Station and later, the body was sent to the GMCH (Gauhati Medical College and Hospital). In this regard, the victim's family has registered an FIR at the Noonmati Police Station, and the investigation is on.
