Minor girl gang-raped, 5 accused absconding

Guwahati: A minor girl was gang-raped on two separate occasions by five youths in the Garigaon area, with the incident coming to light on Thursday when the victim's mother lodged an FIR at the Panbazar All-Women Police Station. Police sources identified the absconding rapists as Biki Ali, Md Fijul Ali, Puna Ali, Pinku Ali and Raja Ali, all of whom are residents of Garigaon riverside.

According to police sources, accused Biki Ali initially raped the victim along with an accomplice on February 16 after luring her to his home when she was on her way to a tuition class. The culprits took video footage of the crime and started blackmailing the victim. Later, Biki coerced her into a hotel room and raped her again along with four accomplices on February 19, the sources said, adding that the victim's mother was forced to approach the police after the culprits uploaded video footage of the crime on social media. A case (No. 19/2022 u/s:-376 (D) IPC; r/w Sec 6 of Pocso Act; r/w Sec 67(B) 0f IT Act) has been registered at in this connection.
