Shillong: 3 men dealing in heroin arrested, one still on the run

ANTF SP Jagpal Singh Dhanoa shared that they have arrested Rohit Mattu, Ansh Sher Gill (also known as Suraj Gill), and Raman Raina as the main suspects. Rohit was arrested near the Cantonment area by the Cantonment Beat House’s I/C, who acted on a tip that Rohit was carrying heroin. A team including S.I. Pradeep Das and E. Lanong was dispatched to verify this.

When they got close to NEHA Transport, right across from the Beat House, they spotted Rohit holding a small red carton. They conducted a body search right there with witnesses present, and found a soap case with about 10.26 grams of heroin inside.

Further inquiry revealed that Rohit had worked with Suraj Gill at a hardware store in the Cantonment area near Jowai Stand. It’s believed Rohit has a history of criminal activity and is a key drug supplier in the area. After Gill was arrested, initial investigations showed he used a hardware store in Cantonment to cover up his illegal operations. He's accused of selling heroin in Shillong through Rohit, Rohit Honda, and Raman Raina. Raman was also taken into custody, and he revealed that Gill had rented a house in Raid Laban under the aliases Rohit Honda and Raman Raina. During a search of the property with witnesses, officers found 15 soap cases containing 152.26 grams of heroin. In total, they've seized over 162 grams of heroin, though Rohit Honda is still on the run.
