The wizardry of Rishi & Irrfan

The wizardry of Rishi & Irrfan

Grandson of famous Prithviraj Kapoor, son of showman Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor was destined to become a star. He was inducted to cinema at the age of 18 as a child actor in his father's film Mera Naam Joker (1970), for which he also won a Filmfare Award. However, it was three years later, when he did iconic Bobby (1973) opposite Dimple Kapadia, all realized a star is born. Apart from being a fantastic actor, he had everything which Indian audience would like –dreamy & romantic eyes, a sweetness that would make his fans crazy and amazing dancing ability. In an era dominated by angry Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor stole hearts of millions with his sweet smile. He went on to make 92 films between 1973 and 2000, effortlessly fitting into the role of a chocolate boy. However, question remained whether he is a one-dimensional actor. But with age, Rishi Kapoor reinvented himself and delivered critical movies like Mulk, played a villainous role in Agneepath (Rauf Lala) and played a role of seventy-six (102 not out)-year-old (BabulalVakharia) with ease. Rishi Kapoor was born in the first family of Hindi Cinema and it must have helped him take first steps in cinema. However, with sheer passion, energy and hard work, he created his own legacy.

He came with an infectious smile in our hearts, gave us innumerous reel moments and bade adieu gently. An outstanding actor of our generation, who crafted his roles so effortlessly that audience was convinced they were watching something in real and not in reel. An Actor extraordinaire, Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29 at the age of 53. He was fighting against cancer and left us too soon.

During last two decades, Khan stunned audience with audacious roles.

Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor were wizards with different skill set. One was the "king of romance" and the other was "the unconventional hero".
