Assam Govt Rollout E-Textbook in 19 Language, PDF Format Available At SEBA,AHSEC Portal

GUWAHATI: On May 3, 2023, the Assam government announced the rollout of e-textbooks from pre-primary to Class XII. Ranoj Pegu, Cabinet Minister for Education and Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes, declared this. The e-textbooks are available in eight mediums and 19 languages.

With the release of e-textbooks from pre-primary to class 12, the state government has made education more accessible and readily available to all students in the state.

Taking on Twitter, Education Minister of Assam Ranoj Pegu said “Inaugurated E-Textbooks of all classes from Pre-Primary to XII at SSA today. 475 titles of Textbooks in 8 medium and 19 languages will now be available in downloadable format in the portals of SCERT, SEBA, and AHSEC. This will help our students, teachers, and guardians in accessing textbooks anytime and anywhere. Shri Debananda Hazarika and Sri Tulsi Barthakur, Chairman and VC of ASTPPCL along with other officials of Dept of Education joined me on the occasion.”This project is available to state students since digital textbooks have been released in 19 distinct languages and 8 mediums. According to local reports, there are over 54, 000 profiles, comprising 45,000 government, 10,000 central government, and private institutions.

On 25th April 2023, The Assam government released its own Siksha Setu Asom Portal App on Monday to collect data on schools, instructors, students, and other topics. "From April 24-30, we will be observing the School Profile Updation Week," Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said. "360-degree information on schools will be uploaded in the Siksha Setu Asom Portal."

The school profile will include the following information: school category, management, address, school management committee (SMC) contact information, Head Master contact information, SMC contact information, nearby institution information, Legislative Assembly, Parliamentary Constituency, GPS location with photographs, and land information.

Siksha Setu Asom site will use the schoolmaster of UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education Plus). Because UDISE+ is updated annually, Siksha Setu Asom will be a dynamic site that will be updated on a regular basis, he said.
