The Kashmir Files Movie Review: Vivek Agnihotri's Film Gives The Closest Picture Of the Truth

MUMBAI: The historical thriller film 'The Kashmir Files' written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri has been released on Friday 11 March in theatres across the country.

The opening first day of the film emerged to be great with Rupees 3.55 crore box office collection. The IMDb rating of the film being 10 out of 10 has defeated the rating of the hit Suriya's film Jai Bhim.

The film has impressed audiences in large with the epic narrative and with the cast that gave their best in delivering excellent performances.

The lead cast of the film includes Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Atul Srivastav, Mrinal Kulkarni, Chinmay Mandlekar and Puneet Issar.

The narrative of the film is based on the historical event of the Kashmir insurgency and the concept shows the migration of Kashmiri Hindus by that time.

The story of the film is closest to the truth unlike any other movie in the past as it shows the actual circumstances and plight of the Kashmiri Pandits.

The film takes the audience at the time when thousands of Kashmiri Hindus were slaughtered, women were brutally raped and children were shot to death. The struggle of the families never ended as even today those families manage their survival like refugees.

Anupam Kher plays the emotional core of the film being a teacher named Pushkar Nath Pandit who was forced to leave his house at Srinagar after his son was killed.

Darshan Kumaar appears as the grandson of Pushkar named Krishna who after 30 years returns back to Srinagar, the largest city of Kashmir. He returns home along with the ashes of his grandfather.

Mithun Chakraborty, Atul Srivastav and Puneet Issar play the role of Pushkar's best friends who explains the lessons to Krishna. After learning the truth Krishna was tormented and awakened and the story continues with the big tragedy.

The Kashmir Files is produced by Zee Studious in collaboration with Abhishek Agarwal Arts.

The music score in the film by Rohit Sharma also added more light to the scenes and the songs by Swapnil Bandodkar helped the viewers remain more engaged.
