Actor Sean Penn In Ukraine Filming Documentary About Russia Invasion
American Oscar-winning actor Sean Pean was spotted in Ukraine's Kyiv city to record events about the current Russian invasion in Ukraine.
NEW DELHI: Amid the military operations in Ukraine by Russia, American actor, director and screenwriter Sean Penn has put himself in the centre of crisis as he has reached Ukraine to record events for documentaries about Russia's invasion.
At this moment when Russia has started full-scale on its neighbour, the actor arrived in Ukraine only to record all that is happening in the country so that he can provide a clear picture in front of the world about Russia's invasion in Ukraine.
On Thursday 24 February the long-time humanitarian activist and Oscar-winning actor Penn was spotted in Ukraine's capital city Kyiv during a press conference by the Ukrainian government.
Penn was seen listening to the government officials of Ukraine speaking about the huge crises due to the Russian attacks. Many global leaders in the press briefing have been regarding the Russian-Ukraine conflict as the worst conflict in Europe since the year 1945.
In November last year, the actor visited Ukraine to research and gather the required information for the documentary.
According to reports, the 61-year-old actor Penn arrived in Ukraine capita Kyiv in the previous week and had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk. He also met the military members and local journalists in the city dealing with the current situation.
In a recent statement issued by the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, it has praised the western actor who gave a special visit to Kyiv to understand the situation and record events to present the truth of the Russian invasion of the country.
The statement reads Sean Penn is among those who support Ukraine in the present situation. The country is grateful to him for his honesty and courage in supporting Ukraine at this tough time.
The President also stated that the actor through this step demonstrates bravery that many other are lacking mainly the Western politicians.
He added that the more people like this, Ukraine's true friend comes forward, the quicker the country can deal with the Russian invasion putting a stop to it.
