Maha Samudram Movie Review: An Unworthy Movie With An Obvious Tale of Friendship

Maha Samudram is a Telugu movie directed by Ajay Bhupathi casting Siddharth and Sharwanand released this year. The film fails to bring much attention from audiences because of its very common story of friendship.

Director Ajay in 2018 became very popular overnight because of his debut film RX 100 so people had high expectations from his film Maha Samudram which also made the comeback of actor Siddharth in Telugu cinema.

In the movie actor, Siddharth plays the role of Vijay and actor Sharwanand appears as Arjun. Both Vijay and Arjun had big hopes and dreams in their life they share a bond of friendship for a long time living in Vizag of Vishakapatnam. Arjun wishes to start his business so that he can earn his income and live peacefully but Vijay is exhausted and tired of his life and experiences he had and would be happy being a corrupt police officer running smuggling. One of the two friends Vijay because of certain circumstances had to leave the city and the other one i.e. Arjun took over the responsibilities of all of his wrong deeds.

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari who plays the character Mahalakshmi aka Maha is a dance teacher who loves teaching classical dance to small kids falls in love with Vijay and wishes to get married to him in future though Vijay never feels for her. Similarly, Smita who role is played by Anu Emmanuel is a student of Law who dreams of having a beautiful future with Arjun. Another part of the story shows actions with crimes of smuggling which involved gangster-like Dhanunjay, Chenchu Mama and Gooni Babji fighting for more power and position in Jizag. Garuda Ram is seen as Dhanunjay and Rao Ramesh is seen as Gooni Babji while Chenchu Mama is Jagapathi Babu who had his influence on Arjun. The question arouses if the two could ever get back to their peaceful lives.

Siddharth did justice to his character by running his role easily throughout the movie, he is well known for holding an image of a chocolate boy in Telugu movies. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari with her stunning beauty as she appears in the song 'Cheppake Cheppake' makes the audience a bit more engaging. The dialogue played a major role in the movie as the character of Rao Ramesh and Gooni Babji brings some light by delivering their dialogues makes the film delightful to watch. As a whole, the story of the movie is very common and what is going to happen next is much predictable.
