The trailer shows that the story of the movie revolves around Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio one astronomy student and another as a professor. Leonardo DiCaprio appears as a professor named Dr, Randall Mindy who teaches astronomy students while Jennifer Lawrence appears as one student among those. She played the character named Kate Dibiasky who is much associated with the course which is a direct collision course with the earth but no one actually cares about the concept of the course.
