Netflix's 'Live Action' Cowboy Bebop: A Disappointing Live-Action Adaption

The latest series Cowboy Bebop directed by Shinichiro Watanabe and written by Christopher Yost along with Jeff Pinker, Hajime Yadate and Keiko Nobumoto has been streaming on Netflix from Friday 19 November.

It is a remake of Cowboy Bebop an anime series that run for 1 season 22 years ago in Japan which was a kind of inspiration.

John Cho as Spike Spiegel in the new version of Cowboy Bebop appears as a bounty hunter with a mysterious past travelling across the galaxy and in the series he undergoes a critical investigation. Mustafa Shakir plays the role of hard-working captain Jet Black who is the pilot of the ship named Bebop and both Jet and Speigel later confronted Faye Valentine the role played by Daniella Pineda.

Valentine seems to have lost her memory and she is not aware of her actual identity but she is determined and scrappy. This three made a misfit crew of bounty hunters and all the three together set their operation of leading the spaceship Bebop.

The original "Cowboy Bebop" in the year 1998 is a seminal anime that credited in expanding scope in reaching of Japanese animation with its deep themes, excellent memorable characters, and genre-bending storytelling. Alex Hassell plays the role of a vicious syndicate and the enemy of the show's femme fatale named Julie whose role is played by Elena Satine.

In the new anime, Faye appears as a skilled bounty killer who tries to know about her past as she has forgotten everything of her life prior to the 50 years she spent cryogenically frozen. And in the new adaption, most of the parts of this back story remain impaired. The whole story revolves around the life of the three bounty killers and different angles in fulfilling their desires.

The new version has already started gaining much hatred as it is not liked by the audience because of the remake of anime characters from the 1998 television series and leaving things out in the new one. The changes in the between in the original and the remake bothered the fans as they loved the earlier adventures on scattered planets bringing the revenge fantasy.

The bond and communication between John and Mustafa seem interesting and entertaining but the adventure of the trio misses important elements and can drive the audience to watch the old and original Cowboy Bebop.
