Rakhi Sawant Calls Out as 'National Crush' After She Addresses Kangana Ranaut 'Desh Ki Gaddar'

NEW DELHI: Reality show star and actress Rakhi Sawant recently in her Instagram profile to express her thoughts on Kangana Ranaut's India got freedom in 2014 controversy. She post a video on her own Instagram handle and Kangana a traitor, Fans showering her with love and praise in the comment section and also referred Rakhi as national 'crush' and 'queen of memes.

The video clip was taken from a recent appearance of Kangana's at the National Summit where she discussed India's independence in 1947 as bheek and said that the country gained its freedom in2014 referring to the BJP's victory at the centre under Narendra Modi. However the sound in the video has been changed to that of dog barking and Rakhi captioned the video, "Desh ki Gaddar hai didi". A number of celebrities and politicians condemned her remark. BJP MP Varun Gandhi wondered whether he should consider this remark as madness or treason. On November 11, 2021, Preethi Menon, the national executive chairman of the Aam Aadmi Party, filed a complaint at the Andheri Police station seeking action against Kangana Ranaut.

In the midst of the uproar over her remarks, Kangana stated that she will reimburse her award Padma Shri which has received recently if anyone can show that she has disrespected martyrs and freedom fighters.

Meanwhile, Kangana was most recently seen in Thalaivi, in which she played late politician turned actor J Jayalalithaa. The film received positive reviews from the audience. Following that she has a very interesting slate of films ahead of her, including Dhaakad, Tejas and Sita; the Incarnation. She has received her fourth national award for Manikarnika; queen of Jhansi and Panga.
