5 members of the extended family of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput have been killed in a tragic accident on National Highway number 333 in Bihar's Lakhisarai district.

NEW DELHI: On Tuesday Morning, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's extended family met with an accident of serious nature on National Highway 333 in Bihar's Lakhisarai district.

According to reports, at least 5 members are said to have been killed when their vehicle collided with a truck. The family members had reportedly gone to Patna to attend the last rites of Geeta Devi, the sister of senior Haryana police officer OP Singh. The incident took place when they were returning from Patna. OP Singh is the brother-in-law of Sushant Singh Rajput.

Lakhisarai Superintendent of Police (SP)  Sushil Kumar confirmed the accident which took place near the upgraded middle school at Pipra under Halsi police station. "It was a massive collision between a truck and a Sumo [an SUV] in which ten persons were returning from Patna." "Six persons including the driver of the Sumo were killed on the spot while four injured have been shifted to a hospital in critical condition," said the SP. 

The dead bodies have been sent to Lakhisarai hospital for post-mortem. They have been identified as Laljit Singh (brother-in-law of OP Singh), his two sons Amit Shekhar alias Nemani Singh and Ram Chandra Singh. Baby Devi, Anita Devi, and the driver Preetam Kumar were among the other names identified. Kumar's relationship with the family is still unknown and yet to be discovered. Balmukund Singh and Dil Khush Singh have been severely injured and have been sent to Patna for better treatment facilities. Balmiki Singh and Tonu Singh were also injured and they have been sent to Lakhisarai district hospital.
