Republic Day 2022 is approaching, and everyone is gearing up for the big event. It's a day when everyone remembers the courageous and unsung heroes who gave their lives to safeguard their homeland and its people.

The day inspires patriotism and people all around the country wake up early in the morning to watch the Republic Day parade on television.

Aside from that, some people watch movies to remind to evoke the spirit of patriotism, here is a list of Bollywood movies to watch on Republic Day

1. Border

When it comes to patriotic films, the Sunny Deol starrer is the first that springs to mind. The border is a film set in 1971 that portrays the story of Indian soldiers against a massive Pakistani army. The soul-stirring song "Sandese Aate Hai" is featured in the film.

2. Rang de Basanti

Aamir Khan, Siddharth Kunal Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni, and R Madhavan star in the film. The film is about five youths who struggle against their own government's corruption.

3. Lagaan

The film stars Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh and is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Lagaan is based on how farmers avoid paying heavy British taxes.

4. The Pokhran Story (Parmanu)

The film stars John Abraham, Diana Penty, and Boman Irani and is directed by Abhishek Sharma. It is a period drama action film that is based on the Indian Army's nuclear bomb test explosions in Pokhran in 1998.

5. Phantom

The film stars Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif and is directed by Kabir Khan. The film was created in collaboration with author Hussain Zaidi's book Mumbai Avengers, which is set in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks of 26/11.

6. Swades

Shah Rukh Khan plays Mohan Bhargav, a non-resident Indian who returns to the country to rediscover the woman who raised him and embarks on a journey to understand where he truly belongs in this 2004 film, also directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.

7. Uri- The Surgical Strike

As the title suggests, the film is based on India's retaliatory strike on terror launchpads in Pakistan after four terrorists attacked an Army base in Uri, Jammu & Kashmir, in 2016. The incident in Uri claimed the lives of nineteen Army troops.

8. Shershaah

Captain Vikram Batra, who was killed in the 1999 Kargil War, is honoured in the film. The soldier was posthumously granted India's highest heroism medal, the Param Vir Chakra.

9. Raazi

Raazi tells the story of a young woman named Sehma Khan, an undercover Indian agent who is married into a Pakistani military family to gather intelligence. The movie, which stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role, is based on the novel Calling Sehmat by Harinder Singh Sikka.

10. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

The movie showcased how a woman can play a crucial role in the time of war despite many hurdles and people trying to bring her down. A fierce Air Force Officer, the first Indian female pilot in combat is truly an inspiring movie.
