1,000-km solo bicycle journey to promote NE tourism

GUWAHATI: Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Assam Sanjay Bahadur will cover a 1,000 km-long solo bicycle journey across the State under a programme organized by the India Tourism, North East.

The solo cycle ride, titled as – 1000 Bar Dekho- North East Dekho, will aim to highlight the magnificence of the North East. The 10-day long journey will take place from March 7 to March 17.

The ride will begin from Lachit Ghat here on the banks of the Brahmaputra River.

Addressing the media, Bahadur said, "The Northeastern region is a paradise which is unexplored till now. This solo cycle ride will be a tribute to river Brahmaputra. Our main aim is to showcase the North East for tourism in international level.

On the other hand, Regional Director of India Tourism, North East Sankha Subhra Devbarman said, "The programme will be a unique way to bring forth the untapped beauty of the North East. We hope through this type of programmes our North East tourism will come in the eyes of international and national arenas."
