GUWAHATI: 108 Mritunjay Emergency Response Services (MERS) attended to 20,165 road-traffic accident cases in the state from January to September 2022.

The month-wise breakup of the accidents is 2201 accidents in January, 2192 accidents in February, 2716 accidents in March, 2296 accidents in April, 2444 accidents in May, 1741 accidents in June, 2087 accidents in July, 2020 accidents in August and 2368 accidents in September this year.

The Kamrup district topped the list with the highest number of 2132 accidents during the period. The breakup is 252 in January, 219 in February, 283 in March, 261 in April, 270 in May, 156 in June, 184 in July, 238 in August and 269 in September this year.

The lowest number of 86 accidents took place in the Dima Hasao district during the period. The breakup is eight accidents in January, 15 accidents in February, 18 accidents in March, 15 in April, nine accidents in May, five accidents in June, three accidents in July, seven accidents in August and six accidents in September this year.

The total number of accidents taking place in the Kamrup (M) district during the period is 1068. The breakup is 83 in January, 107 in February, 132 in March, 141 in April, 108 in May, 100 in June, 103 in July, 141 in August and 153 in September this year.
