GUWAHATI: The 13th edition of Guwahati International Film Festival concluded here on Wednesday. The five-day-long film festival was organized at Rabindra Bhawan by the Guwahati Cine Club. A total of 18 movies were screened in the Festival from February 27 to March 3.

Foreign-language movies from Mexico, Greece, Croatia, France, Germany, Argentina, and Bangladesh were screened. Various Indian movies including Malayalam movie 'Darkness' and Hindi movie 'Mooso' and '4-sum' were also screened. Moreover, the premier show of Assamese movie 'Chiyahir Rong' by Produt Kumar Deka was held at the festival. The closing film was 'Lorni-The Flaneur' by WanphrangDiendoh which was screened on Wednesday.

The 13th Guwahati International Film Festival was dedicated to the renowned film director Satyajit Ray, his film 'Pather Panchali' was also screened in the festival.

Secretary Guwahati Cine Club Madhurima Baruah said, "This year we a received a good response from abroad. We have applied for funds from the Director of Cultural Affairs and we are hoping that we will receive it soon."
