GUWAHATI: During the Holi celebrations, the State registered as many as 279 road accidents which were attended by Mrityunjoy 108 services.

While 101 accidents took place on March 28, a total of 178 cases were attended by Mrityunjoy 108 services on March 29.

During the two-day celebrations, Kamrup (Rural) recorded the most number of accidents with 27 cases, followed by Barpeta with 20 cases, Sonitpur and Udalguri with 19 cases each. Kamrup (Metro) registered 18 accident cases.

The least number of accidents were registered from Sivasagar with one accident case, followed by Lakhimpur, Karbi Anglong, and Chirang with two cases each. Among other districts with double digit accident cases include – Cachar with 16 cases, Hailakandi with 15 cases, Nagaon with 13 cases, Dhemaji and Golaghat with 12 cases each, and Darrang, Goalpara, and Morigaon with 11 cases each.
