A Year of Achievements For CRPF At Amerigog, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: IG NES CRPF, Prakash D, IPS has stated that North East Sector Ops Conference was held on Monday in CRPF Camp at Amerigog, Guwahati which was attended by all senior officers of NE Sector SDG, Prabhat Singh, IPS congratulated all for the good work done in 2018. An action plan for 2019 to achieve better operational results was also discussed and formulated.

The year 2018 has been a year of remarkable achievements for the CRPF Officers and men. The North-Eastern Sector which supervises the Counter Insurgency Operations in Lower and Central Assam and Meghalaya has been able to bring in peace and stability in these areas. During the past year, CRPF has achieved many operational successes in the form of arrest of 127 insurgents/suspects/linkmen and recovery of 21 arms, 76 ammunition, 08 magazines, 07 grenades 449 kgs of Ganja. 4 personnel posted in the North-Eastern Sector were awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, 25 personnel were awarded DGs Commendation Disc and 1039 personnel were awarded Antarik Suraksha Seva Padak.

During 2018, CRPF troops participated in the successful conduct of Amarnath Yatra, Publication of NRC in the State of Assam and played a vital role in restoring normalcy in Shillong (Meghalaya) during the riots in June-2018 and Assembly Elections in various States. CRPF has provided medical cover, drinking water facility, and other logistic support constructed a number of buildings, distributed sports items and study material in the area of deployment under Civic Action Programme and projected a positive image of the Force which won the goodwill of the people of Assam.

The Sector HQ, other Units/establishments have organized various events under the ‘Swatch Bharat Campaign’, ‘BetiBachao, BetiPadhao’, ‘PolioUnmulan’, ‘Nasha Mukti Campaign’ in various cities of NE Region which were appreciated by the local administration and the general public. Besides, CRPF also organized various sports and stress management activities like Yoga etc. The IGP expected that CRPF officers and Men would be able to achieve more operational successes in this year. He exhorted all to maintain utmost discipline, efficiency and professional competence, a press release stated.
