Accused in woman's murder nabbed by police at Cooch Behar

GUWAHATI: Faizuddin, who is an accused in the murder of a woman named Tazlima Khatoon, was arrested by police at Cooch Behar on Sunday.

Tazlima Khatoon was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel in Guwahati on January 25 with a gag in her mouth. According to police sources, Tazlima and Faizuddin- who had introduced himself as her husband- had checked into the Hotel Rajhans at SS Road in Fancy Bazar on January 14.

The employees of the hotel became suspicious after they did not see both of them for a couple of days. They opened the door of the room concerned with the master key and found Tazlima lying dead on the floor with a gag in her mouth.

Faizuddin was absconding but he was finally nabbed from Hotel Nirala at Cooch Behar in West Bengal on Sunday. He will be brought to Guwahati. According to sources, Faizuddin's family in Lakhipur in the Goalpara district said that Faizuddin was married to another woman and Tazlima was not his wife. The real name of Tazlima has also not been ascertained.
