GUWAHATI: Newly floated regional party, Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) President Lurinjoyti Gogoi in a press meet said that in this COVID-19 crisis, the party has come forward to give a helping hand to the people affected due to this virus.

Further, Gogoi stated that the party workers will work as "Jatiya Sewaks" to provide assistance to the citizens of the state.

The "Jatiya Sewaks" will help people with food, essential items along medicines. Further, the workers will also help the COVID patients and provide them with essentials which are not available at their home due to unavailability of people for help.

It is to be mentioned here that the AJP has released a dedicated helpline number for every district by which all the "Jatiya Sewaks" will be able to cater their services to the needy free of cost.

The services will give importance to COVID patients, senior citizens, children, and women in general and also to the people who are unable to buy necessary items due to the containment zone.

The party president said that along with Guwahati other towns in the state have also witnessed the rise in COVID-19 cases, however, due to curfews and lockdown people with money are also unable to buy essentials, hence these "Jatiya Sewaks" will also try to help with this regards.

Meanwhile, for people who have cured of COVID-19 and wish to donate their plasma, a website-"https://www.plasmafinder.ass amjatiyaparishad.org/" has been launched so that they can register their names and help the other patients in the form of Plasma Bank.
