GUWAHATI: The All Assam Primary TET Qualified Teachers’ Association (AAPTQA) has suspended their decision to stage a symbolic hunger strike, which was to be on June 21, in support of the demand for the regularization of posts with secure salaries for the contractual teachers of the SSA (Samagra Shiksha Assam) and state pool teachers.
The association’s president, Trailokya Deka, said, “The incessant rain from the last few days has made the lives of the people miserable. Many districts have been submerged due to flooding. With this condition, communication has become a problem for a few districts. So, the current weather condition is the reason why the association has halted their symbolic hunger strike. And the agitation will continue until the normal condition subsides.”
