Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA) asks for report on SIM card procurement for tablets

GUWAHATI: In a new development regarding the ongoing disagreement between the teachers and the education department regarding the Sikha Setu App, the executive director of Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA) ordered the respective officials of the department to submit a report regarding the purchase of the SIM cards for the tablets issued to the schools under the same project. The deadline for the submission of this report is May 6. The District Mission Coordinators of SSA, Inspectors of Schools, and District Elementary Education Officers of all the districts will have to prepare the report.

Assam State Primary Teachers Association (ASPTA) had earlier announced that until the creation of the post of headmaster in government schools, they would not be cooperating with Project Siksha Setu. The organisation had given a deadline of May 21 for issuing the order towards the creation of these posts, threatening to return the tablets the next day if no action is taken by the department.
