GUWAHATI: Demanding special TET, the Sanyogi Siksha Karmi staged massive protest at Guwahati Club on Wednesday.

The All Assam Sanyogi Siksha Karmi Union (AASSKU) claimed that the Education Minister had said many times that the Education Department is going to advertise for special TET and the Sanyogi teachers have been going through uncertainty.

AASSKU said, “As Education Minister has failed in materializing his written promise of conducting a ‘Special TET examination’, the Sanyogi teachers are protesting with their demand to conduct Special TET. If the government doesn’t show any concern in issuing advertisement, AASSKU will organize indefinite strike.” In a situation where the protest was about to take a bad turn, the joint secretary of education department came to the protest place and assured them of conducting special protest. The protestors claimed that from 2005 till 2012 they were working as teacher under government scheme. But the government exempted them from theirr job without issuing any advance notification. The Sanyogi teachers have been raising their voice since long to regularize their job.

One of the protestors said, “The government promised us of conducting special TET. But till now there is no materialization of their promises. Now that they have again promised us of conducting TET in 2020, so we’ll now wait and watch, as when the government will issue advertisement. Failing which will be resulted in more massive protests and history will be created in Assam by the Sanyogi teachers.”
