All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Remembers Dr Bhupen Hazarika

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) organized a special programme, Uddipana, at Dighalipukhuri to pay tribute to Dr Bhupen Hazarika.

AASU chief adviser Samujjal Bhattacharya, president Dipanko Kumar Nath and general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi paid tribute by lighting the lamp in front of the statue of Bhupen Hazarika.

After that the best singers from many colleges and university from each districts of Assam performed the songs of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika to pay tribute. They also went to the Samadhi Kshetra of Bhupen Hazarika at Jalukbari in the city to pay tribute and planted saplings of white sandalwood.

Among many other celebrations, the Department of Mass Communication, Journalism and Media Studies Cotton University also observed Dr. Hazarika’s Birth anniversary as Mass Communication Day. Eminent actor, writer, dramatist and cultural activist Ratna Ojha graced the occasion as the chief guest.
