Assam Assembly Election 2021: 8 newly-elected MLAs also won in 1985 polls
Out of the total candidates who have made it to the 15th Assam Legislative Assembly, eight of them were also elected in the 1985 elections when the AGP (Asom Gana Parishad) came to power.

GUWAHATI: Out of the total candidates who have made it to the 15th Assam Legislative Assembly, eight of them were also elected in the 1985 elections when the AGP (Asom Gana Parishad) came to power.
The eight legislators are – Phani Bhushan Choudhury (AGP) from Bongaigaon constituency, Ramendra Narayan Kalita (AGP) from Gauhati West constituency, Pradip Hazarika (AGP) from Amguri constituency, Bhaben Bharali (AGP) from Dergaon constituency, Chandra Mohan Patowary (BJP) from Dharmapur constituency, Atul Bora (BJP) from Dispur constituency, Bharat Chandra Narah (Congress) from Naoboicha constituency, and Durga Das Boro (BPF) from Kalaigaon.
Out of the eight MLAs, Phani Bhushan Choudhury has been elected from Bongaigaon for a record 8th consecutive term.
It is to be mentioned that all the eight 8 MLAs contested from the AGP in 1985.
