Assam Government appoints Guardian Secretaries

After Guardian Ministers, the Assam Government has come up with the concept of Guardian Secretaries.

GUWAHATI: After Guardian Ministers, the Assam Government has come up with the concept of Guardian Secretaries.

The government has entrusted 15 IAS officers the responsibility to monitor implementation and progress of government schemes in the 35 districts of the State as Guardian Secretary of the respective districts. The Personnel Department has issued a notification in this regard. The Guardian Secretaries will be responsible for holding meetings with the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that government schemes are implemented properly.

The IAS officers and the districts they will be in charge of are – Jayanta Narlikar who will be the Guardian Secretary of Bajali, Charaideo and Majuli; Rajesh Prasad will be the Guardian Secretary of Baksa, Tamulpur, Chirang; JB Ekka will be the Guardian Secretary of Barpeta, Dhubri and Bongaigaon; Akash Deep will be the Guardian Secretary of Biswanath, Syedian Abbasi will be the Guardian Secretary of Sonitpur and Nagaon; Kavita Padmanabhan will be the Guardian Secretary of Cachar, Kokrajhar and Udalguri; Adil Khan will be the Guardian Secretary of Darrang; Lakshamanan S will be the Guardian Secretary of Kamrup and Kamrup (metro); B Kalyan Chakravarty will be the Guardian Secretary of Dhemaji and Lakhimpur; Ananta Lal Gyani will be the Guardian Secretary of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia; GD Tripathi will be the Guardian Secretary of Dima Hasao, Kabri Anglong and West Karbi Anglong; Mukesh Chandra Sahu will be the Guardian Secretary of Goalpara, Nalbari and South Salmara; Siddharth Singh will be the Guardian Secretary of Golaghat and Morigaon; Rakesh Kumar will be the Guardian Secretary of Hailakandi, Hojai and Karimganj; and BB Dev Choudhury will be the Guardian Secretary of Jorhat and Sivasagar.
