Assam government busted Jihadi modules: State BJP

GUWAHATI: "After the formation of BJP led government, the State has been able to bust all Jehadi networks" said State BJP spokesperson Ranjib Kumar Sharma. Talking to the media, in the Party Head Office 'Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan', Sharma further said, "Due to the social support and patron provided by various political parties, Jihadi networks have been successful in finding a base in Assam. Jehadi networks have been continuously prevailing in the state since the 70th decade due to some wrong policies adopted by the earlier Congress governments. But after the BJP formed its government in the Centre and State, zero tolerance has been shown in the laws regarding terrorists. Based on such laws and inspired by the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam police have continued a strong mission against Jehadis in the present times. As a result, the police have been able to bust a huge network of international terrorists in Nagaon and Morigaon districts. The mission being carried out by the police is the apparent proof of this."

Ranjib Kumar Sharma further said, "It is noteworthy that the Assam Police have not only busted a network of Jehadis in Morigaon and Nagaon through a mission since March 7, but have also been successful in arresting five people. Also, they have seized 136 active sim cards, 18 mobile handsets and documents related to Pakistan."
