GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi condoled the death of Hardhan Chandra Ray, a soldier belonging to Indian Army's 59 Artillery Forward Regiment who laid down his life while on duty at Uri sector in Kashmir.

In a statement today, Prof. Mukhi while condoling the death of Hardhan Chandra Ray of Assam's Dhubri district along with other jawans of the Indian Army, said that the sacrifice made by the jawans are the glaring examples of the valour, dedication and patriotism. They set an example of utmost sacrifice and love for the country which will never go in vain. He also said that their dedication and devotion will definitely be a source of inspiration for the posterity.

He extended his empathy to the bereaved family members of Hardhan Chandra Ray and said that the state is proud of its son's supreme sacrifice. He at the same time prayed to the almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul, a press release said.
