Assam High School Teachers’ Association to back stir against Citizenship Amendment Act

GUWAHATI: The Assam High School Teachers’ Association (AHSTA) has decided to extend open support to the agitation against the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) spearheaded by the AASU (All Assam Students’ Union) and other organizations in the State.

The association took a decision to back the agitation against the Act at a meeting held recently. The other decisions taken by the Association are – attending their duty with black badges pinned on their lapels against the CAA till January 22, 2020, staging sit-in strike in all districts on January 4 next, to distribute a leaflet making people aware of the dark side of the CAA, extending financial help to the AASU for the legal battle against the CAA, resorting to democratic agitation if its members face atrocity in their agitation against the CAA, etc.
