GUWAHATI: On the occasion of the 'National Anti-Drug Addiction Day', the Guwahati Police has launched a campaign to further amp up the fight against drugs.

A WhatsApp Info-line number – 6026901246 – will remain active 24×7. Guwahati Police requests Citizens to share any available information on drug trafficking or traffickers, so that the Police can act swiftly and band together with the people eradicate this evil.

The campaign has been designed with the idea 'from educate to eradicate.' While the Police would continue to sensitise people about the perils of drug addiction, information shared via the Infoline would be put to use to apprehend, destroy all drug trafficking networks.

Speaking at the launch of the Drugs Info line, Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, Harmeet Singh said, "In the wake of the Chief Minster's clarion call to eradicate drug trafficking from the State, and following the major successes, we have now launched the 'Drugs Info line' to seek the support of citizens, so that together we eradicate the menace from our society. We remain firmly committed to act strongly against the drug menace and keep our city and State safe."
