Assam Police Radio Organization employees attain national-level honours

The APRO Training School, Jalukbari has again shown its calibre at the national level with two of its members earning laurels recently.

GUWAHATI: The Assam Police Radio Organization (APRO) Training School, Jalukbari has again shown its calibre at the national level with two of its members earning laurels recently.

According to a press release, the Directorate of Coordination Police Wireless (DCPW), New Delhi recently hosted an All India Morse Competition for police personnel of States, UTs and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the main objective of which was to honour Morse operators and the oldest and reliable means of radio communication, besides creating awareness and enthusiasm for the dying-out skill of Morse-keying-based communication. Altogether, police personnel of 22 States/UTs/CAPFs took part in the competition. From Assam, Sub-Inspector (Opr) Anil Chandra Bania of the APRO Training School, Jalukbari took part in the competition and bagged the 1st Prize. He received a trophy and a certificate for his great achievement. This has brought pride for the Assam Police. Similarly, another faculty member of the APRO Training School, Sub-Inspector (Retd) Taheruddin Ahmed was recently honoured with the 'Legend of India' Trophy by the Anti-Corruption Foundation of India, Haryana. The event was organized by the Human Rights International Foundation. The achievements of Sub-lnspector (Retd) Taheruddin Ahmed and Sub-Inspector Anil Chandra Bania have been highly appreciated by senior police officers.
