Assam Rifles seizes heroin in Tengnoupal, Manipur

GUWAHATI: Troops of Assam Rifles recovered contraband drugs worth more than Rs 2 crore at a mobile vehicle check post in Tengnoupal, Manipur.

On 22 November, during a routine search at a check post, troops of the Assam Rifles intercepted a suspicious white Maruti Alto Car driven by one H Jangkhongam Mate of Kangpokpi district. After a thorough check of the vehicle, the team recovered 50 packets of heroin weighing approximately 641 grams and valued at more than Rs 2 crore.

The apprehended individual and the recovered items have been handed over to police station at Tengnoupal for further investigation.
