GUWAHATI: The women of the State now have reasons to celebrate! Now on, they can lodge complaints of any sorts to the Assam State Commission for Women (ASCW) from anywhere in the State. This has become possible now with the formal launch of its official website – www.ascw.org.in and Facebook page on Saturday.
The website and the Facebook of the Commission were launched by Social Welfare Department Principal Secretary Mukesh C Sahu at a simple function organized at the headquarters of ASCW in Guwahati.
Apart from the 'Online Complaint Lodging System', the website will provide information about the organization and its activities in detail.
Launching the website, Sahu said, "Today is a very landmark day for the ASCW. The presence in digital media and social media platforms is an encouraging step towards taking the ASCW to more number of women. This will also create a challenge for us to constantly upgrade our complaint redressal system."
Commenting on the development, ASCW chairperson Chikimiki Talukdar said, "I am very happy to be a part of the launch of the Assam State Commission for Women's official website with integrated complaint filing system. Hope, this will extend our reach to the remotest location of Assam."
During the day, the ASCW also registered its presence on the social media platforms by rolling out its Facebook and Twitter accounts in order to aware women, and the general public at large, about rights of the females. The official Facebook page is https://m.facebook.com/Assam-State-Commission-for-Women-100206948654055 and the Twitter handle is https://twitter.com/ASCW Assam.
