Axam Xahitya Xabha announces recipients of 9 literary awards

GUWAHATI: The Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) on Sunday announced the recipients of nine of its awards.

Dr M Kamaluddin Ahmed will be conferred with the Ambikagiri Raichoudhury Award for his creative discourse upholding humane values and national awareness. Dr Purna Bhattacharjee will be conferred with the Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha. Nilakshi Chaliha Gogoi will be conferred with the Basanti Bordoloi Award for her research-based creative work. Gangapada Choudhury will be conferred with Hem Baruah Award for his political novel and travelogue. Mukut Sarma will be conferred with the Buduram Panging Memorial Award for his work on tribal issues. Anjali Mahanta will be conferred with the Phani Talukdar-Dolly Talukdar Award for her satirical literature. Bhupendra Raichoudhury will be conferred with the Bharat Chandra Baruah Award for his Vaishnavite literature.

Two other awards will be conferred in the below-35-years category. Ranjit Patgiri from Nalbari will be conferred with Amulya Baruah Award, while Pratibha Bhagawati from Nagaon will be conferred with the Giridhar Sarma Award for the manuscript of her novel

The awards will be conferred at the AXX session at Narayanpur in the Lakhimpur district on February 2. The AXX jury included Dr Manju Devi Pegu, Dr Apurba Kumar Saikia and Anubhav Tulsi.
