Bharat Ratna Award Will Be Preserved In Assam: Tez Hazarika

GUWAHATI: Tez Hazarika, the only son of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika, feel privileged to have received the Bharat Ratna Award for his father.

Tez Hazarika said, “It’s a very big thing for me personally to be invited to receive the award for my father. The award belongs to the people of Assam, it has to be protected and preserved here in Assam. It’ll be protected somewhere, so that the people Assam can see it”.

He further said, “I am very happy that the government chose him to give this honour. His songs have message of humanity, maybe now people will pay more attention to his lyrics”. After receiving the award in Delhi, Tez Hazarika also visited the Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra on Saturday and paid tribute to his father.
