Bodo Sahitya Sabha Cries Foul Over Community Discrimination

GUWAHATI: State Government announced the literary pension a while back and the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) cried foul-play in the selections of names. The Sabha claimed that not a single litterateur penning Bodo literature have been included in the list for 2019-20 were selected by the Higher Education Department.

Claiming that it is deception and a conspiracy against the Bodo language, BSS said, “The Bodo language was included under the 8th Schedule of the Constitution 16 years ago but there has always been discrimination against the language. Although some Bodo people have been selected for the pension, it is due to their efforts in the Assamese literature and not in the Bodo language. Will the Bodo people have to resort to remonstration to be recognized?”
