Book on Tiwa Tribe Released at Guwahati Press Club

GUWAHATI: A compilation of seventeen articles published in different books, magazines and newspapers, Chintar Prayash: Bezboruahar Pora Hirudaloi authored by Dr. Mowsumee Bordoloi Hazarika, Vice Principal, Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia College, was released at Guwahati Press Club on Friday.

Besides Chintar Prayash: Bezboruahar Pora Hirudaloi another book titled Karbi Anglong Jilar Pahariya Tiwa Xokolor Samaj Aru Sankaskriti authored by Hazarika, depicting the differences in rituals of hill Tiwas living in the remote areas and plain tiwas was also released.

The book is based on her UGC funded research project on society and culture of hill Tiwas of West Karbi Anglong district. Chintar Prayash: Bezboruahar Pora Hirudaloi was inaugurated by noted Journalist Anuradha Sarma Pujari and Karbi Anglong Jilar Pahariya Tiwa Xokolor Samaj Aru Sankaskriti was inaugurated by noted scholar of Hill Tiwa Culture Maheswar Pator. Delivering her speech, Anuradha Sarma Pujari enlightened the audiences by highlighting the prevailing issues of the society creating communication gap between human.
