Bus Accident at Ganeshnagar, Basistha, Several Injured

GUWAHATI: City bus drivers competing among themselves to go ahead so as to gain advantage in picking up passengers is a common scene in Guwahati. Such unhealthy competitions on the road often lead to accidents. Similar was the situation on Thursday morning as a city bus (AS01HC0757), travelling at breakneck speed, collided with a private bus (AS01GC9148) at Ganeshnagar, Basistha. Several people inside both the buses were injured and rushed to a hospital nearby. The unruly driving of city buses have been condemned time and again, however, there seems to be no change in the scene even after stringent rules were regulated a while back.
