Sarma holds video conferencing with DCs and SPs

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a video conference with the DCs (Deputy Commissioners),SPs (Superintendents of Police) and other senior officials from Guwahati on Saturday to discuss the 'Covid Vaccination Completion Campaign' which will be undertaken from November 29 to December 5, 2021 in the state.

The Chief Minister said, "The State government in a bid to achieve 100% Covid vaccination in the state undertakes the Covid Vaccination Completion campaign from 29th November to 5th December, 2021. Under this campaign, verification teams will visit all houses in each polling booth area and cross check the certification process and countersign the certificates for completion of the first dose Covid vaccination for the area".

The Chief Minister asked the officials to carry out the campaign in a mission mode so that people who didn't take vaccine could be identified and vaccination of all eligible people within the stipulated period could be ensured. He also emphasised on second dose vaccination and directed the officials to keep all medical facilities ready to meet any exigency during the campaign.

Chief Minister Sarma further said that the campaign will be a massive exercise which is being carried out to prevent the third wave of COVID pandemic. He asked the officials to consider this as a mission to save the state and the country from the pandemic.

The Chief Minister also underlined the role of police, who will assist the civil administration in successful completion of the campaign. Chief Minister Sarma also said that all ministers, Chief Secretary, DGP and other nominated officers will visit polling station areas as observer to guide the campaign, stated a press release.

Earlier, Dr. S Laxmannan, Mission Director NHM gave a detail presentation on the status of vaccination in the state.

Health & Family Welfare Minister Keshav Mahanta, Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, Principal Secretary to CM Samir Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary Home Neeraj Verma, Principal Secretary H&FW Anurag Goel, Principal Secretary Education B Kalyan Chakraborty were also present in the video conference.
