Coronavirus outbreak: Mockery of government’s health advisory

GUWAHATI: In the view of tackling the Coronavirus outbreak, the government has advised the citizens to practice social distancing. However, the Jalukbari area on Tuesday witnessed a view which spill beans on the government’s order.

The area witnessed mass gatherings due to the shortage of public transport. The Assam Government recently temporarily suspended inter-state bus services which led to disruption among the working class people who were planning to go back to their native before the complete lockdown.

People from various places like Dhubri, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Darrang and Nalbari were hopping on to trucks and buses, most of them without masks and ignoring the need for social distancing.

Their movement might lead to a potential corona outbreak in the city and thus, make a mockery of the government’s health advisory.
