The Department of School Education of the Government of Assam has ordered the schools to remain open on Gandhi Jayanti, which is on October 2, in observance of the International Day of Non-Violence.
GUWAHATI: The Department of School Education of the Government of Assam has ordered the schools to remain open on Gandhi Jayanti, which is on October 2, in observance of the International Day of Non-Violence. In an order passed on Saturday, the department mentioned that, in line with global observance, the schools shall remain open on Monday to organize various programmes and activities to remind students of the culture of inclusive oneness and to involve all concealed stakeholders. It has also been mentioned that a ‘Non-Violence Pledge’ is also to be administered in all schools on that day.
