Dispur Police detained one person for allegedly assaulting chef and other staff

GUWAHATI: The Dispur Police detained a person named Pragyan Mahanta from Ambikagirinagar here on Tuesday in connection to a case where a chef of a city hotel was beaten up by around six men on December 30, 2020. The men barged into the kitchen of the hotel in an inebriated state when an argument took place over the delay in serving their meal. They allegedly assaulted the chef and other staff of the hotel. The chef got at least 10 stitches on his head as he sustained severe injuries.
