Drug peddlers, thief arrested in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Following up on Saturday's arrest of one Jaminur Ali, a Special Operatios Group (SOG) of the West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) arrested Zahir Ali, Tafiqur Islam and Mukut Ali at Jalukbari on Sunday night and recovered 21 vials of heroin, mobile phones, syringes etc., from their possession.

In another incident, a Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) team from the Chandmari Police Station arrested one Aditya Kumar of Sahabganj in Bihar on Sunday night for stealing a mobile phone in Bamunimaidam. He was caught red-handed during the act. Later at night, five more peddlers were held and 5gm of heroin was seized.
