Fake currency notes seized; one arrested by Assam Police

GUWAHATI: The Assam Police on Saturday night seized fake currency notes amounting to Rs 24,000 from Jorabat under Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district and arrested one person in connection with the incident. Police also recovered around 27 kg of ganja from the possession of the arrested person, who has been identified as one Namuddin. According to police sources, Namuddin was transporting the consignment from Agartala in Tripura. He was caught by police while he was on his way to Shillong, the sources said.
