GUWAHATI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Monday arrested a fake RPF personnel from the Barpeta Road railway station. The accused has been identified as Ful Chan Ali (22), a resident of Paikarapara village, Dhubri. According to a release, Subhash Ch. Deka, Asst Sub Inspector, RPF, Barpeta Road while conducting joint checks at the railway station along with RPF and commercial staff, noticed the person acting in a suspicious manner and detained him.

During the course of enquiries, he revealed as he is RPF staff of New Bongaigaon and produced one fake RPF ID card No 06/23508, dated.15.4.2019, issued by one Rohit Sharma, N.F. Railway.

On further checking, another fake ID card issued in favour of him as Sub Inspector, Crime Branch No. 173, New Delhi by Indian State Police Ministry of Defence, New Delhi was recovered. One SBI ATM card, and a certificate issued by Jamadarhat Gaon Panchayat was also found with him. He revealed that both the above ID cards were made by him at Malda town with intent to earn easy money from public by acting as RPF staff in railways and as Sub Inspector in public.

The said person was arrested and handed over to Officer-in-Charge, GRP, Barpeta Road under acknowledgement for further action after adopting all the formalities.

In another incident, based on the SDR location data given by Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Danapur of East Central Railway, RPF team apprehended a tout named Avinash Kumar Singh (21). He is a resident of Bihar.
