FIR against web portal over its telecast of a "Fake News"
The DIPR (Directorate of Information & Public Relations), on Friday, filed an FIR (First Information Report) at Dispur Police Station against web portal

GUWAHATI: The DIPR (Directorate of Information & Public Relations), on Friday, filed an FIR (First Information Report) at Dispur Police Station against web portal 'The Cross Current' over its telecast of a "Fake News" during the day. The "Fake News" was regarding erection of hoardings allegedly by the DIPR. The FIR added, "We clarify that the Department is not at all involved in publishing and erecting the above mentioned hoardings…" The DIPR also requested the Police department to initiate appropriate legal action against the web portal, stated a press release.
